Walnut Pesto – Easy, 2 minute recipe
Welcome to my first post! In my first post, I wanted to share one of my favorite recipes. The idea behind this walnut pesto came to me by accident. when I was preparing pasta and didn’t have any red sauce or pine nuts at home. My partner loves to have walnuts in the morning, so these we always have at home. Walnuts are rich in nutrients and are a touch salty, which is great for a delicious flavored pesto sauce. After the first attempt, we were hooked.
We enjoy this recipe in the morning on dried bread or toast as well as in pasta. The natural saltiness of the walnuts helps emphasize the freshness of the basil and thyme. Garlic adds the perfect amount of spice and goes so well with the parmesan.
Olive oil creates the consistency – add more to make it a creamy paste or less to make it chunky.
This recipe, like most of my favorites, is incredibly easy to make. Simply measures the ingredients, add them to a blender and voila.
